Medical Mission #3: Distribution of Prosthesis January 25-27, 2013, Digos City
Distribution of prosthetic legs attended by Romy & Mona Buerano, Bob and Barbara Noel from the United States. Sasha Buerano who was working in Bangkok Thailand surprised her parents and joined them at Digos City. Fr. Nestor. onsite coordinator, coordinated everything with the help from DSW, nuns, volunteer workers. Dr. Penny Bondoc and her team of volunteers brought in the prosthetic legs to about 150 patients. The patients brought in their families with them. We have over 400 people who showed up including 30 amputees who have no appointments hoping they could be accommodated. Some of them drove 5 hours away. These new wave of amputees were fitted in by the Medical Team technicians. The 30 patients were given their prosthetic legs on December 2013 by the team of Dr. Raymond Satur. The event was done at the Diocese of Digos, Davao Del Sur. This is the biggest mission that the Medical Team had done to date.
